Temporary Investigation Officers
It is our policy to
recruit temporary full-time or part-time
investigators to cope with fluctuations
in caseload. We welcome persons with
rich experience in public administration
interested in investigation work to
register their interest by sending us
their applications with their personal
particulars.
Level of
Appointment
These temporary
appointments are normally made at two
levels:
A. Chief Complaints
Officer level
To
vet submissions and drafts for cases of
alleged maladministration which have
been processed by our investigators and
make recommendations to The Ombudsman
via the Deputy Ombudsman for conclusion
of the cases; or
To
undertake special assignments.
B. Senior Complaints
Officer level
To
conduct investigation into cases of
alleged maladministration including
inquiries and site visits, scrutiny of
information, analysis of findings and
preparation of reports for submission to
head of investigation teams and the
relevant Assistant Ombudsman.
Entry Requirements
Candidates should have a
recognised degree from a Hong Kong
university or equivalent, with a good
command of spoken and written Chinese
and English. They should have at least
15 and 10 years' administrative or
management experience in Government
departments or public organisations for
appointment at the Chief Complaints
Officer and Senior Complaints Officer
levels respectively.
Knowledge of Putonghua
and computer applications of Chinese and
English word-processing is an added
advantage.
Remuneration and Terms
Appointment is normally on short-term
contracts. Remuneration can be at a
monthly, daily or hourly rate. Benefits
are provided in accordance with
the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57),
Employees' Compensation Ordinance (Cap.
282) and the Mandatory Provident Schemes
Ordinance (Cap. 485).
Renewal of contract may
be offered to good performers subject to
service needs.

in support of academic qualifications
and working experience should accompany
the completed application.

will be approached when the Office is in
need of temporary investigation
officers.
